Deleted photos from my sd card by mistake
Our take
The article in question recounts a frustrating experience with an accidental deletion from an SD card—an event that underscores how easily digital memories can vanish. When i tried to clear space by removing the wrong folder, it triggered a cascade of unexpected outcomes, wiping not just the intended deletions but also earlier imports. This kind of incident is more than a technical glitch; it highlights the vulnerability of our cached photos and the urgent need for better safeguards. It’s a clear reminder that even with careful handling, the path to recovery can be complicated and uncertain.
What makes this story especially relevant is how it speaks to the broader concerns of anyone who relies on their SD cards for valuable moments. The author’s tone balances disappointment with a hint of determination, showing that mistakes happen, but the right tools and mindset can turn a setback into an opportunity to learn. Readers who value visual storytelling or photography might find this narrative particularly relatable, as it illustrates the real-world stakes behind seemingly simple photo management tasks.
It’s worth noting that this situation also emphasizes the importance of regular backups. By keeping copies of important images in multiple locations, users can mitigate the risk of losing work due to simple errors. The story doesn’t just recount a problem—it invites readers to reflect on how we handle digital assets more thoughtfully. In the end, the lesson is clear: preparedness pays off, and staying informed about recovery options is essential for preserving your creative legacy.
So i have this Sd card to Phone camera card reader, you out the sd card in and connect it to your phone, it pops up in the iPhone photo app as “imports”, and you click on the ones you want to import and they do.
The thing is, i had some images that i already imported and it gave the option of “delete imported”, but when I did that, it deleted all of them, even the ones that weren’t imported yet. Is there any way to recover those photos? I stopped using the sd card and put it on the side, I’m currently on a trip so I don’t have access to my laptop currently and it will be another 2 weeks before I get back.

- SD Card WoesHi all. I'm a professional photographer and have a have a SanDisk SD card. In the middle of shooting, I got an error message on my Canon EOS 60D that the card wasn't reading. Naturally, I had a backup SD, so I swapped it out. When I went to plug the OG back into my computer, it didn't show up. Plugged it in on another computer, didn't show up there either. Other SD card worked fine, no issues at all, but this one wouldn't read. I flipped the switch on the side of the SD card to see if it was an image protection issue, and it comes back that ALL OF THE IMAGES WERE GONE (but the SD card is now reading and recognized). Can someone point me into the right direction as to what the issue is and how I can recover those images - since I assume they are still on the card, just not showing up? submitted by /u/anonyack12 [link] [comments]
- Need Urgent help in photo recoveryNeed some urgent help from fellow photographers 🙏 I’m honestly gutted right now, I accidentally deleted a set of photos directly on my camera (Nikon D5300 DSLR camera), including some of my best recent wildlife and bird shots. I had deleted around 400 older images from 2023 because I was running out of space during safari, but only realised later that some of my latest safari photos from yesterday got deleted along with them. To make it worse, I did take a few photos after that (unfortunately), but I’ve stopped using the card now. If anyone has experience recovering deleted JPEGs from an SD card, especially after some overwrite—I’d really appreciate any tips, tools, or workflows that worked for you. Just trying to recover whatever I can from yesterday’s shoot 🤞 Thanks in advance 🙏 submitted by /u/Efficient-Drink5822 [link] [comments]
