Do you find that your best photos are the ones in which you do a lot or a little editing?
Our take
Do you ever notice that your best photos often require minimal editing? As I reflected on my favorite shots from the past year, I discovered that the majority of them remain almost untouched. My editing process typically involves simple adjustments in the Mac Photos app, like cropping and tweaking light and color. Yet, the standout images are those that capture striking compositions right out of the camera. It seems that a well-composed shot in the moment often translates into a truly exceptional photo.
I was going through favorite photos I've taken over the past year, and I realized that the majority of the "best pics" were ones that are almost raw.
Now, I edit in the Mac photos app and at most crop and adjust the Light, Color, and maybe selective color if relevant.
But even with that the photos that I (and others) think are best are almost entirely raw. It seems like getting the composition right straight out of the camera is the biggest commonality. There may be some adjustments to Light but that's about it. I guess a shot that looks good in the moment does generally translate to a strong photo.
