How to hike with large (heavy) lens
Our take
Embarking on a hiking adventure with a large lens like the Tamron 150-600 can be both exhilarating and challenging. While your Peak Design clip has served you well, the new lens’s weight and size may require a different approach. Consider exploring options such as the Peak Design Slide strap, which could potentially be adapted for your lens. Additionally, the Tenba Axis backpack offers ample space for other gear, allowing you to balance functionality and comfort.
Planning for a trip and I bought a Tamron 150-600. I like it, but now I realize I need a solution for carrying it while hiking.
I used to carry with a Peak Design clip on my backpack strap but the new lens seems too big for that.
I'm thinking I may be able to find a way to use a PD slide if I can attach it to the lens.
So I'm asking for suggestions on what I can do to carry this 2kg lens. Backpack is Tenba Axis where I'll be carrying other lens (lenses?)
