Cell checking another cell for text and displaying value based on which text is found
Hello,
I’m trying to update some of the invoice spreadsheets we have at my workplace and am wondering if it’s possible have a cell check another cell for text and display the corresponding figure for that text.
Example:
4hrs = $250
8hrs = $500
12hrs = $750
Etc.
The above is very simplified and the actual text the spreadsheet will be searching for is longer (not sure if this matters).
My thinking is that I can have a drop down list to select the “hrs” and a seperate cell can search for the text populate the rate according to the hrs.
The current way we prepare invoicing uses a lot of typing and I’m trying to find a way to optimise.
Appreciate any assistance.
Thanks
