Anyone using WPS Office instead of Excel for spreadsheets?

I’ve been spending a lot of time in Excel lately, but I’m trying to move away from Microsoft subscriptions and started testing WPS Office Spreadsheets. At first I expected it to feel like a “lite” spreadsheet tool, but honestly it’s closer to Excel than I thought.

Most of my sheets rely on formulas, lookups, and some fairly messy data tables. So far WPS Office has been able to open my .xlsx files without breaking things, and the common formulas seem to work fine. From what I’ve read, it supports a large set of Excel-style formulas and file formats like .xls, .xlsx, and even macro-enabled files, which helps when sharing with people still on Excel.

I’ve also seen people mention that WPS covers most typical Excel use cases, with one user saying it’s “about 98% of what Excel has” for normal spreadsheets.

That said, I’m curious about real-world experiences from people here in r/excel:

Have you used WPS Office for serious spreadsheet work?

Any issues with complex formulas or large files?

Did you run into compatibility problems when sending files back to Excel users?

Just trying to figure out if it’s reliable long-term or if Excel still wins once things get complicated.
