Canon Camera Connect compressing image quality

I've noticed that the Canon Connect app seems to be compressing the quality of my images, they look crisp and in focus on the camera and subsequently on the night of my shoots but when I'm exporting them onto the ipad ( please no hate, it's all I can afford) the images aren't looking as good.... any advice?
