Do I really need a separate makeup remover if I don’t use foundation?

My typical makeup look is just concealer and mascara. For going out, I’ll also use bronzer and blush.

Typically, I just use the Vanicream gentle cleanser to wash off my makeup and it seems to work? I think, since I don’t use a base product and mainly use cream products, it’s easy to take it off with just one cleanser.

However, I was advised to use a separate makeup remover and so I purchased the Garnier Micellar water to try out. It works great to remove my mascara, but seems to irritate my skin if I apply it around my cheeks. They seem to get red and bumpy afterwards, even if I rinse it off and moisturizer.

I’m just wondering, do I really need a separate makeup remover if the vanicream seems to work just fine?

I have very naturally dry and slightly sensitive skin
