Best area to stay in NYC for first time

Hi everyone 😊

I’m from Germany and I’m thinking about visiting New York City for the first time. We are two adults and we planned to stay probably for 2 weeks in September or October we don’t know it yet.

Our budget is probably mid range to flexible. We don’t need a nightlife or anything like that, but we do want the trip to feel comfortable and enjoyable. We’re happy to spend money on good food, sightseeing, shopping, and experiences that are really worth it.

Some of the things we’d love to do are see the Statue of Liberty ofc, go to Broadway, visit popular museums, spend time in Flushing Meadows Corona Park, check out filming locations like from Home Alone 2 and The King of Queens, and of course enjoy as much great food as possible😊

We’re not interested in clubs or nightlifeāŒ Shopping is definitely part of the trip, and we’d prefer not to make everything unnecessarily complicated with very long distances every day. Using public transport is completely fine though as long as it’s practical and worth it.

Since this would be our first time in NYC, I’d really appreciate honest advice from locals or recent visitors. Would you still recommend New York right now for a first trip? Also, would September or October be the better time to go or maybe later like November or December? šŸ¤”

I’d also love advice on which area would be best to stay in for 2 adults who want convenient sightseeing, good food, shopping, and easy access to the main attractions without needing nightlife.

Thanks a lot for any advicešŸ’›
