Australia to New Zealand - Are Pet Ashes OK For Travel?

My dog passed away last year, and since then I’ve worn a locket with a small amount of his ashes practically every day since.

We’re heading to New Zealand for our honeymoon next week from Australia, and it’s unclear if I’m allowed to take my locket with my dog’s ashes or not, as most of what I see from some research seems to mention urns, not jewellery containing ashes.

I’d really like to bring him with me, but at the same time I’m obviously worried it would be confiscated at the airport on the flight to/from New Zealand.
