how to get rid of two tone lips?

hello, I am wondering if anyone has any tips on how to get two tone lips. I tried what google said (exfoliate regularly, use brightening ingredients, use baking soda/toothpaste) and it just won't go away. I can never find lip products that work, especially lip liners. Please let me know what you have tried and if has work or not! Thank you in advance!
