Caracas, Venezuela - April 2026
Caracas, Venezuela - April 2026

I had the opportunity to visit Caracas during the long Easter Weekend and wanted to share some of my photos and impressions. It was a short but intense trip.
I understand that Venezuela isn't a popular destination these days, but the people I've met were all extremely warm and welcoming, despite me speaking little to no Spanish.

1-5: These shots are taken in the Petare district of Caracas, where I was able to witness the Via Dolorosa, or "Way of Sorrow," which is a Holy Week celebration across Latin America. It involved intense, public reenactments of Jesus's walk to crucifixion. Quite frankly, I am not sure how much of it was actually acting, but that is another story.

6-10: Additional shots of Petare, which is characterized by high rates of homicide, armed robbery, and gang activity, often labeled as one of the world's most violent neighborhoods.

11-13: Photos around the city center, including a performance at the main city square.

14: Dog tax.

Enjoy!
