Starting my undergrad soon and am torn between schools
I am a resident of Michigan and am very interested in becoming a marine biologist, though I’m a fan of animal studies in general. Decision day for colleges is due the 1st of May and currently I’m torn between 3 schools and 4 programs. I’m not very keen on moving far away, but am not opposed to the idea. I’m currently between FGCU’s marine sciences program, University of Tampa’s Marine Biology program, which I got admitted to for the spring semester, and either MSU’s Fisheries and wildlife undergrad, or Majoring in Zoology, with concentrations on marine biology as well as a minor of the same name. I quite like the idea of working in an aquarium or a zoo when looking for jobs, and am not sure if fully focusing on the marine biology aspect of things is too narrow when searching for them, or if it’s better to have a more general degree like something in zoology and having a concentration on it. I’m mostly just looking for any advice people are willing to give or helpful knowledge about the programs, I’m also open to any questions I left unanswered!
