Hen with shellless egg hanging out of her vent

Exactly what the title says, I've got a hen who i noticed had the remnants of a broken shellless egg hanging out of her vent dragging behind her. I gently removed the rest of the membrane which didn't seem to cause her any discomfort other than the fact that she had to be picked up against her will. Aside from extra calcium is there anything else that can be done and is it going to cause issues later? She hasn't layed in about a month (i suspect trauma from the passing of another hen).
