First time hatching!

We’ve had backyard chickens for about 9 years, but this was our first time hatching chicks! It was such a fun experience for me and my girls. We were lucky that two of them decided to hatch while my daughters were home and not in bed, so they got to watch the process. So so fun.

We started with 6 eggs, and have 3 chicks. (1 wasn’t fertilized, 1 never hatched after 25 days, 1 died after hatching)— is that average, you think?

We couldn’t be happier with Kiwi, Potato and Carlo 😂
