Shaving my face (as a girl)

Ok so i have a question for all the girlies out there. What happens if I shave my face using the normal razor? Will my hair grow thicker or will i grow a sort of like beard?? Cause i shaved my face a few days ago and my mother is crazyy angry. She said that in a few days i will look like a monkey and that i will grow a beard BUTTT ive searched online and asked all my friends and they said that its simply not possible. Any advice or clarification??
