Exceptional Bokeh, Incredible Value: The Sirui 85mm Aurora Lens
Fifteen aperture blades is a rarity worth pausing for, and the Sirui 85mm f1.4 Aurora turns that into its signature. It delivers the creamy, vintage-inspired bokeh we chased with the Zeiss Biotar, but wraps it in a weather-sealed metal body with an aperture ring. For the L-mount, this is exceptional value, and it holds its own across Sony, Nikon, and Fuji systems. It is lightweight, fast, and refreshingly uncomplicated.
Beyond Portraits: Rediscovering the Versatility of the 85mm Lens
There's a quiet thrill in rediscovering a lens you thought you knew. The 85mm often gets boxed into portraiture, but its reach extends far beyond that single genre. Sports photographers, street shooters, and event documentarians are finding fresh energy here, especially when they stop defaulting to that wide-open aperture. We're exploring how this focal length rewards manual control and a more deliberate eye.
Sigma 85mm Art Lens: Support Arrives Before Official Release
Adobe Camera Raw 18.5 just tipped its hand: the Sigma 85mm f/1.2 DG Art lens is now supported, even though Sigma hasn't officially announced a release date. That quiet software update whispers that the lens is closer than we think. It's a curious, almost poetic way to tease gear, and we love the suspense. For more visual storytelling inspiration, our piece on finding joy in street photography pairs nicely with this blend of anticipation and artistry.
