A Celestial Artifact Lands Amidst the Minnesota Cornfields
A farmer in western Minnesota just found an 11-foot-wide metallic disc in his cornfield, and authorities suspect it came from space. The sheer scale of the object, and the quiet mystery of its arrival, feels like a scene from a beautifully strange dream. It is a reminder that even the most familiar landscapes can still surprise us. For another story of discovery in an unexpected place, read about the theropod footprint found in Thailand.
Drone Down: Alabama Photographer Seeks Answers After Aerial Incident
A quiet morning shoot over an Alabama property turned into a sudden, sharp crack, and a real estate photographer watched his drone fall from the sky. It's a frustrating violation of craft, and now authorities are working with him to find the shooter. We appreciate the patience this kind of investigation demands. For those who love the artistry of capturing spaces, this story is a stark reminder of the tensions that can arise.
A Legacy Silenced: Iranian Photographer’s Life and Work Cut Short.
For over two decades, his lens gave Iran a visual heartbeat, documenting its people with an artistry that felt both intimate and monumental. He also gave his craft away, mentoring hundreds who will now carry his vision forward. That his life ended by the authorities' bullets is a grief we cannot soften. This silencing dims a vital voice, yet his photographs remain. For deeper context on visual storytelling's quiet power, our piece on the ancient silk art of Kesi offers a fitting companion.
