The frame behind the lens that captured exhaustion and infamy falls silent

Light bends differently through a lens that has witnessed both triumph and terror. Jerry Gay, the photojournalist who captured that Pulitzer-winning image of four exhausted firemen resting mid-blaze, and who also froze Ted Bundy's chilling gaze in frame after frame, has passed away. His work held beauty and brutality in the same quiet focus. There's something poetic about a career that spanned such extremes, reminding us that authenticity often lives in the shadows.
