The Cosmos Meets Craft in Evan McKay's Award-Winning Night Sky

The night sky has never felt more intimate. Evan McKay's *Cathedral Cove, New Zealand* isn't just a photograph, it's a quiet conversation between light, land, and cosmos. This week, the Astrophotography Prize named McKay its 2026 Photographer of the Year, awarding him $3,000 for an image that feels both ancient and immediate. For those inspired to chase their own celestial frames, our piece on Canon's current lens and camera offers might be the perfect next step.
